There’s no doubt that food is a big part of any travel experience, and many times when you try a meal again you are taken back to that date and time when you first tasted that particular dish. During my trip to the Costwolds, I had to try some of the well-known English dishes, like a good old fashion English breakfast– fried eggs, sausage, black pudding, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns, toast, and tomato. Hungry? Not so much after eating all of that, but a great way to start the day.

Two other memorable dishes I had were traditional pudding at Three Ways House Hotel, right after dinner you must have a big bowl of warm pudding and custard. The second one was the after dinner tea at the Hare and Hounds –hot chocolate with homemade marshmallow and crunchy chocolate strips with cream tea.

I’m a Caracas native, living in Chicago. I have a passion for travel, culture, food, adventure and discovering new places off the beaten path. I still remember the first trip I took internationally as a child and the excitement that it was to know that everyone will speak another language. Traveling was cool—waking up early to make the trip to the airport, packing too much and then realizing it’s much better to pack light.

Now a travel writer, I get to see new places continually, check out new restaurants, and talk about my experiences. Just as I’m about to be done with a trip, I see myself at the airport daydreaming while staring at the departure board thinking about my next destination.
