Mona Lisa Getty Museum Challenge

Life imitates art with the Getty Museum Challenge. Since we’ve been in quarantine, there have been countless ways to entertain ourselves at home. There are virtual tours of zoos across the country, a stroll through Versailles and the Winchester Mystery House, as well as making countless famous recipes at home from IKEA’s famous meatballs to Disney Parks churro bites.

But what we missed most has got to be visiting art museums. In Chicago, we have so many great places to view art, including the Art Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art. But alas, visiting an actual gallery in person will have to wait. Thankfully, the Getty Museum challenge is here for us to get culturally inspired. The Getty in Los Angeles asked art lovers to re-create famous artwork at home with things they had on hand, and boy, did they deliver.
