I will take any excuse imaginable to escape the hustle and bustle of city life in Chicago. So when Chevrolet came calling to hit the road in their Chevy Trax for their Road Trip Challenge, it was just what my family needed to fulfill our wanderlust with a road trip. For our first destination, we headed to Milwaukee. In less than two hours we were enjoying the Milwaukee Art Museum inspiring architectural gem by Santiago Calatrava, beautiful views of Lake Michigan and great food. Since road trips are all about coming upon the unexpected and no plans really set we decided instead asked locals where to go. For lunch, we stopped at Comet Cafe with comfort food for vegans and meat eaters, on our way home, we had to stop at the famous Mars Cheese Castle right off the expressway, filled with great souvenirs items and of course plenty of cheese samples to try.

While we could resist to hit the road again we did a weekend getaway at a lake house near Paw Paw, Michigan right on Threemile Lake. With a weekend full of paddle boarding, kayaking and cookouts on the grill, it was the perfect getaway. There was so much we loved about the Chevy Trax—the bright orange color turned many heads, the GPS made sure we never got lost, the 4G LTE Wi-Fi kept the kids entertained for hours and Siri Eyes Free kepts our eyes on the road. It was an easy, comfortable ride and the compact size was perfect for our family of five. In fact, we can’t wait for our next road trip.
